矽對禾本科作物而言是屬於有益元素，禾本科作物生長期間添加矽可以強健莖桿、增加逆境抵抗能力。本研究以台南11號水稻品種為試驗(有關台南11號品種可參閱連結https://book.tndais.gov.tw/Magazine/mag50-9.htm)。

在生長期間以葉面施肥的方式噴施矽酸鉀，處理後每週測量生長期間農藝性狀及收集氣象資料 ，分析農藝性狀與氣象因子間的關聯性。於後期分析產量與米質，藉此瞭解矽酸鉀對水稻生長與產量的影響，並依據氣象因子建立水稻生產預測模式。

      Silicon is a beneficial element for the growth of rice crops, application of silicon during growth of gramineous crops can strengthen stems and increase resistance to stress. This study used Tainan No. 11 rice variety as experimental material. (information link: https://book.tndais.gov.tw/Magazine/mag50-9.htm).

     Potassium silicon is sprayed by foliar fertilizationduring during rice growth period, agronomic traits and  meteorological data are collected weekly. The correlation between growth traits and meteorological factors are analyzed.  Finally, the yield and quality of rice are analyzed to study beneficial effect of potassium silicon on rice growth. Base on the meteorological factors to establish a prediction model of rice production.

兩週後，秧苗逐漸長大，但近日常有大雨，田區中有少許的缺株，等秧苗茁壯後再行補植。

從插秧至今已有一個月，秧苗逐漸成長。因本試驗不施用農藥，再秧苗生長初期有些微的蟲害。
